Local Richmond, Virginia Training & Consulting Services
Offered by Michael Vizdos. Experience matters.
Michael Vizdos is a local Certified Scrum Trainer® (CST) — based in Richmond, Virginia — offering CSM (Certified Scrum Master) and CSPO (Certified Scrum Product Owner) Training authorized by the Scrum Alliance for over 18 years. He is also available for consulting engagements with over 35 years of professional experience.
My name is Michael Vizdos, and I'm a local person who provides training (and consulting, speaking, keynotes) around the world. I live in Richmond, Virginia, and have been active in the Scrum and Agile community here for a while now.
Not in the #rva? Learn more about my other services plus training offers outside of Richmond, and register there. But since you're here, please continue reading — you can still hire me to come to your town anywhere in the world. I love to travel.
Local Experience Matters, Even More, For You
Contact me and let's have a conversation — phone, Zoom, or face-to-face. Zero sales pressure. I'm based in the Short Pump area, but I'll cross the river or head downtown to meet if that works for both of us.
If I can't solve — or even identify — the real world problems you're experiencing, I'll make recommendations (yes, even to my "competition") if it's not a good fit for either of us.
I Am Not For Everyone
And that's OK. Yes, I want to work (paid work) with you — but it'll be a sales-pressure-free conversation. There's only one of me, and I'm in your home town. People pay me to fly all around the world to work with their teams; you might even think about flying some other "outside expert" in. If you do, let them know I'm here — funny thing, almost no consultants take me up on grabbing dinner while they're in town.
Let's talk — even if, especially if, you're talking to other vendors.
Ways To Get Training With Me In Richmond
I don't offer many "public" trainings where I book something and hope for the best. Contact me and let me know you're interested. If you work somewhere that can host a training for a few people, we can get creative and open it to other local people too. Or if you're bringing people into town for an offsite, bring me in to help — it doesn't have to be "official" Certified Scrum Training.
Keep It Simple — No Games
I do not respond to RFPs — by the time those go out, you already know who you're contracting with. If you want to contract with me for training or consulting in Richmond, let's talk. It's simple. No games.
Advantages Of Working With A Local Trainer
You save on travel and logistical headaches. You keep local #rva money in the #rva ecosystem — I give back in time and investment here, and have for 20+ years. I am NOT the cheapest person out there — if you're looking for the lowest cost provider, please look elsewhere, then contact me in six months and let me know how that's working out.
Any work we do together should not come out of a "cost center" budget — instead: make more money, reduce compliance risks, delight your customer. I do not like — nor recommend — "one and done" transactional training that leaves you doing the same thing the next week anyway.

Scrum Training Testimonials
"I just completed the two-day CSM training with Michael Vizdos. It was a seamless experience with a group of six attendees coming together to experience the formation and practice of being on a scrum team. Our activities and interactions felt less like training, and more like working model of team building."
— J.D., Phoenix, AZ
"After my first day in Michael's SCRUM training, I immediately began taking steps to get my entire team of product owners and project managers enrolled in his similar 2 day Product Owner training. I had a ball at this training. It is worth the time and effort, and you walk away with much more than your SCRUM certification."
— Meredith Poppish, MSN, FNP, Transnetyx, Inc.
"I was able to take the Scrum Masters Workshop and found it to be one of the most informative workshops ever. It really addressed all the aspects of scrum and how to apply it in all situations."
— Rodney D.C. Barnes
"I was a bit skeptical that I'd come into this training and my only outcome would be getting a checkbox checked on my resume. I was definitely wrong — I learned some new techniques and approaches to enhance what I am already doing."
— Emily, Cloud for Good
"Mike is an effective communicator on the art of Scrum. My background is in biochemical research, and Mike helped me realize the value of Scrum, even in applying this framework to my own lab work."
— Joshua Morriss, VCU School of Pharmacy
